How IP technology is transforming cable - CTAM registration ends tomorrow

TORONTO - An in-depth look at how IP technology is transforming every aspect of the cable business will be the feature presentation when CTAM Canada holds its second in a series of educational courses as part of the CTAM Canada University Program. Cable 3.0: The Big Transition to IP Everything! will be led by cable expert Craig Leddy and popular technology columnist Leslie Ellis.

The session will take place from 1 pm to 5 pm on Tuesday, November 13th at the Velma Rogers Theatre in Toronto. The course cost is $200 and registration closes on October 24.

Craig Leddy Craig Leddyis a leading authority, writer, lecturer and consultant for the cable industry, specializing in interactive television, advanced advertising, broadband media, and other advanced video services. He also founded Interactive TV Works, Inc. to promote deployment of advanced digital media. A former business journalist, Leddy serves as editor of CTAM's Advanced Video Guide and is a contributing analyst for Heavy Reading's Cable Industry Insider Reports on advanced cable technologies.

Leslie Ellis Leslie Ellisis an independent technology columnist, analyst, author who writes a weekly column for Multichannel News called 'Translation Please', aimed at demystifying cable and broadband technology terms. Ellis has served as Senior Technology Advisor to CTAM since 2001. In 2010, she was named Woman of the Year by the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers and Women in Cable & Telecommunications.

Their course will be followed by a one-hour presentation by Gordon Hendren, President and CEO of Charlton Strategic Research, on research findings about the multiplatform environment in Canada. The session will be free to all CTAM Canada members.
